PATCHWORKING THE WORLD TOGETHER

The ReclAIMEd program by AIME Mentoring is an initiative offering a solution to re-imagine and re-solve waste in the fashion industry, while at the same time, raising funds to lift kids out of inequality. The program was launched with the Australian Fashion Council (AFC) in 2022.

Since 2005, AIME has been on a mission to alleviate educational inequity and plug the intelligence of those outside the margins into the systems of the earth.

Through various creative programs, AIME unlocks the imagination of the human race to forge unlikely connections that lead to a different set of outcomes, a different world, a fairer world.

“We’re super excited to be working with AIME - it’s a genius combination of using creativity and resourcefulness to both tackle waste and raise money for an excellent cause.”

By the time you’ve finished reading this sentence, about 4 - 5 garbage trucks of textiles will have been landfilled or incinerated.

(BOF, 2018)

Around 85% of all textiles are thrown away, and incinerated or landfilled. Globally, an estimated 92 million tonnes of textile waste is created each year and the equivalent to a rubbish truck full of clothes ends up in landfill every second.

More than USD 500 billion of value is lost every year due to clothing underutilisation and the lack of recycling. We believe brands can be part of the solution.
